Not bad at all. Great rough for and if you bring it into say, ZBrush or Mudbox. If not, still has great potential.

starting to improve head textures
but still having problems with lighting
any tips for curvy lighting would be appreciated :)

You can paint your own lighting, just start with a square image 256 or 512 in size and imagine shading a big ball that fills the square up to the edges.

Then right click on one of the Curvy Lights to choose your new image to use as lighting.

This way you can adjust backlighting, highlights, and coloured lighting just by painting a lightmap.

Not quite sure what you mean by backlighting, could you
expand on that a bit ? :?
