Playing with the 3.0 Beta...

I like the outfits and attitude of Dick Turpin art, and decided to mix this up with my love of dragon style creatures - the result a flying highwayman.

Here are my base shapes, with the monster's body curves shown.

I guess I don't have much time - that's why I love making Curvy quick to block out these shapes, and simple to sculpt into. The main trick is having a good sketch as a backdrop - makes sketching the base-curves a simple technical exercise.

Looks great Simon. Was wondering how you created the skin for the wings?

Cheers :)

The wings were made using Loft Objects. These take a bit of getting used to, but fundamentally let you draw 3 curves to define the middle and two end shapes of a flat sheet, much like a capital 'H'

I tweaked the end curves to match the wings 'fingers'.

Finally I used a bumpmap to add the scaly texture.

Looks pretty bad-ass. Nice one.
