Aartform announces Curvy 3D 2.0

London - December 31, 2009 - Aartform, the software publisher and development studio, today announced a major new edition of its sketch-based sculpting program for Windows®: Aartform Curvy 3D 2.0. Currently in beta testing, Aartform Curvy 3D 2.0 is scheduled for a Q1 2010 release.

"At heart Curvy is a lathe modeller, with a non-technical interface making sculpting fast and easy." explains CEO Simon de Rivaz, "Curvy is great at organic art, and now adds volumetrics, digital clay tools, posing, and image based geometry. These new features make Curvy a great way to start out in 3D sculpting, but also a unique addition to the experienced artists range of sculpting options."

Making an accurate basemesh to sculpt over can be slow and fiddly in traditional modelling programs. Curvy 2.0's new volumetric sculpting tools make basemesh creation incredibly easy. You can draw the shapes for your model then merge the shapes together to create a seamless base mesh that is smooth and elegant, ideal for detailing in hi-resolution modelling software.

Originally a sketch-based sculpting program, Curvy now lets you create image based 3D models using a simple image inflate tool. This is handy for photo based modelling and for shapes that are much easier to create as a graphic design rather than a 3D model.
