Question on masking strait lines

Post by drawsattention »

Is there is way to mask straight lines? For example: putting a t or cross shape mask on a cube... Then you pull up and voila! A roof. Still loving this program and learned so much. This is the one program that makes 3D FUN.Please let me know and Happy Holidays!

After trying out painting masks and using the "Mask/Spike" menu command to sharpen up the mask effect, I think it is not easy to get straight edges by masking and pulling a mesh.

However you might be able to make roof shapes with Slab objects with straight edges made like prisms. 2 such prisms if moved to overlap would make a good T shape roof.

The other possibility is to start with a Loft and carefully make a greyscale image of the extrusion you want, if you leave the edges black it should make a "block" with the extruded shape of the greyscale Curvy Map.
