Ambient Occlusion + Layered Screenshots

Postby Simon » Thu Jan 25, 2018 8:44 pm

When you've got a lot of fine detail on a model a little ambient occlusion can help show it off by shadowing creases and holes.

This is a pretty cheap effect, but not realtime - so it is rendered when you save a screenshot. I always like to mess with my scenes in layers so the screenshots now can drop multiple images for each layer, so you can tweak and filter in 2D. (Of course you are welcome to export and render in any software - but I always find it very time consuming and prefer to spend that time sculpting)
