Question from a total noob

Post by HamP »

Greetings everyone!

I am a total newbie who would like to start learning 3d modeling. Right now I would like to concentrate on some hard surfaces, mostly for space ships creations. I was wondering what would You guys recommend - Curvy 3d or maybe Silo 2 would be better choice for my case?
Second question I would like to ask is how much Curvy 3d is compatible with Substance Designer?

Best regards!

Curvy can be used to model Spaceships, especially mixing swooping curves with mechanical details. See a couple of sci-fi examples below (thanks to various Curvy artists!)

About Substance Designer - your workflow would be to sculpt and roughly texture (create UVs) the whole model in Curvy, then you would export as OBJ and take it to Substance Designer to do the detailed texture and material work. Should work fine, you can even try it out with the Curvy demo.
