The one you get when you press m on the keyboard is the Local Mirror (under object in the menu). When I say Mirror I mean the one labeled Mirror (in the Model menu). I'm trying to find out things about how mirroring works. When using meshes made in Curvy, they don't always mirror along the axis I would prefer. When I import a cube, I get a cube. I have to do it from my flickr photostream thumbnail , not from the picture that shows up when I click the thumbnail; then right click, select Properties and copy the url from there. Thank you for the answers. Reducing thickness worked by both of those methods. The s keymakes ALL the edges smooth, therefore less gear like. The quad size 2 or 3 seems to help, 1 makes Curvy crash What is meshlab? I'm using a black and white picture. If "Relief-create height map using intensity" is...

I found Inkscape is a free program with automatic (but limited options) gear making.

How can I reduce the thickness of the gear? It is about three times thicker than the diameter.

Also, is there a way to get rid of the ridges caused by the jagged edges?

I studied the "Create Loft Tool" info in the User Guide. It was less than entirely clear, but now I can make many kinds of strange shapes. :lol: None of them look like leaves Even after studying the file you kindly included, I can't figure out how to make it leaf shaped. :? I used a lathe for the leaf and a line for the stem.

I've played around with it a little, but I could use some ideas on how to make leaves, please.

I took demo out before using pro for the first time, then when pro wouldn't work I put demo back in, then after a while pro worked. I don't really care much why, as long as it works.
