I agree, we need more tutorials showing the basic tools of Curvy and how to use them. Videos will be more accessible than the written documentation to some people. This tutorial (the text version in the post) will be clear to established users but is not suitable for a beginner. I'll dig out my micr...

There are several simple tutorials in the documentation help file (UserGuide.chm).

eg: Reference/Tools/Widget Move Tool

as well as the basic creation tutorials:
eg: Tutorials/Lathe Objects

There's a lot of good info there - I hope it helps :)

This a pretty old tutorial - you can select the lathe from the tools panel in the top right (Its the second option and you'll get a tooltip if you hover over it)

This is a preview of some experimental modelling techniques in Curvy - it is not a functional tutorial in the normal sense.

I'll be making more video tutorials over time that will be easier to understand!

Penny Farthing Toon + Timelapse Video

Hat off to mykyl for inspiring this image :)

I used Curvy2 Image inflate to make the bicycle from an image, the rest is lathes and a couple of lines, as you can see in the video a 10x timelapse.

Energy Being - Poser and Curvy3D

This is more of a fun experiment with poser and glows than anything else... I imported the man from Poser5 as an OBJ, and duplicated him a couple of times with curvy maps and glowy materials to add the energy around him. http://www.curvy3d.com/images/MonkS.JPG Click for bigger pic. http://www.curvy3...

Football Helmet - Alpha+Curvy Map Modelling

http://www.curvy3d.com/images/FootballHelmet.JPG The main part of the helmet is just three drawn curves and a couple of image maps. This video outlines the process: Helmet Video Here are the drawn curves: http://www.curvy3d.com/images/fh1.JPG The helmet was improved using a transparency image to hi...

Football Helmet

While Curvy is great for quick sketches, it can also make some more precise models like this helmet - all without any complicated modelling (like mesh editing). Not yet, you can paint on the bumpmap like any other map and it will show up when the rendering mode is set to "best rendering"

If you have already run Curvy (and the GAotD licence exe) and have the no-interface problem, you can still run SetCurvyPath.exe in the install directory to fix it.

Curvy 2 - Dragon Antlers

I used Curvy2's image inflate to make these antlers, then curved them a bit more them using the widget move tools. Then I saved the screen as a TGA with an alpha channel so I could easily use the dragon as a layer in a paint program to add the background. http://www.curvy3d.com/images/Drago2.JPG Her...

Thanks for tip ctrl-z, will check it out.

Merging arms to body is usually 'faked' in Curvy by lining up one object carefully with another so they are overlapping but with a faintly visible seam.

Curvy2 will has a full merge that does what is suggested.
