tip:-
read soft alpha blending in help file.
load a colored background to see what you are doing with alpha files.

low_polly1.jpg about 15 mins to produce using curvy's very powerful tools to make a low poly torso. first see simon's torso tutorial using 4 curves and the mesh weld. (help page lathe tutorials ) then on the edit menu select mirror sculpt. (this will mirror what you sculpt on one side to the other....

Drawn with single lathe.
curvy mapped with a picture of simple black white and grey rectangles.
diffused mapped with same picture colour filled.

curvy 4 saves a lot of time due to its much improved uv mapping. :D
