Glass (2) can be made using the "Glow" (1) object properties setting and a metallic lightmap (4). Metal just needs the metallic lightmap (4). To load a lightmap right click on the little image (4) and choose an image to use. You should have a few options already loaded when you installed Curvy in your "My Documents/Curvy 3D" folder under baselights and highlights folders.
For the best results lower the ambient material colour to black.
