IK Example File

Post by Simon »

Please find attached a walking IK animation for Curvy 3D 5.1

Just unzip, load in Curvy then pick the menu "View/Panels/Anim" and press U to enter posing mode. Then right click on the bottom anim bar to play the animation.

This is the same as you might make with the IK tutorial video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CC5D--qTTI

The important step is creating the IK action - after making bones for the leg, calf, and foot - select the foot bone and the menu "Anim/Anim IK". Then drag the leg bone (with the calf as a child) on the Groups panel as a child of the IK Action.

Hi Simon,
I was testing the GLTF export with this animation and I think there maybe a bug related to "parent node" in the exporter?

In Assimp (which isn't always 100% but supports many formats) it loads and walks fine, but looks like this:

Blender 4.2.2.LTS can't load it at all.

Hi Simon,

I just found this tool, GLTF insight: https://github.com/lighttransport/gltf-insight/releases
Built for debugging GLTF files, it loads and animates but also looks like this.

Thanks for the feedback and screens. I will try out those tools you mention and see if I can get to the bottom of this.
