Idea

I am wondering if there is a way to implement a picture viewer with shortcut key to activate it? This way if I am using a real life photo I can have it quicker for reference. I realize we have the "load perspective backdrop" but at times, if using that, the picture can quickly become covered and it is hard to see the finer details.
Not sure this will be helpful to others but just an idea.

I do the same while I am modelling. The new "Opaque Backdrop" option lets you view the original image without the modelling getting in the way. I'll make a video to show the process.

This shows the basic setup of a side-by-side reference image:

I want to do a more in depth backdrop tutorial including the matching in 3D of several different angles. TBA as Smart Backdrops aren't quite feature complete yet (eg: You can't pan in the backdrop view).

Thanks!

Thank you for this tutorial and looking forward to more. :) Been having so much fun and learning so much here. I wish Curvy had come out years ago as it really is the best 3D there is in my honest opinion.

Curvy's been around since at least 2004. That's quite awhile :)
