Curvy Maps

Post by Simon »

I'm upgrading Curvy Maps in Curvy 3D 5 - they now support full 3D displacement.

Also - like vertex colours - you can now use Curvy Maps per vertex. This lets you paint with the same 3D texture technology anywhere on your model. Combined with Instant UVs it will be easy to do things like paiting intricate scales on a mermaid's tail that get smaller and smaller along the tail to the end... all with a simple flood fill of the tail.

Same Curvy Map applied to a whole character:

You can use a mixture of maps on the same model, or erase back to smooth:

Mucking about with some displacement maps - these aren't even specially setup as 3D textures - they still look interesting :)

Demonstrating blending various Curvy Maps together.
